He drew this after weeks of being picked up from after-school-care later than usual. After a week and a half of me being out of town. After me being busy and distracted with projects, email, phone calls and heaps of felt...He gets it. He knows exciting things are happening. He thinks it's cool. I must savor this fleeting moment.
I know what it's like to be proud of my kids...but I had no idea how good it feels to have my kids be proud of me.

That brought tears to my eyes. Truly.
Congratulations.
Awwww.
He's right, you know!! (I love mine.)
seriously, talk about heartwarming! It's great that you have raised him in a way that he understands what is going on and isn't feeling left out because mom's got a bunch of good things going on. That's so awesome!
Definitely teary eyed! I think this picture should go in your new book. What a great keepsake -- those little boys, they DO love thier mothers!
Cool kid
That's the best part about running a business from home; the kids get to see how hard it is to work towards something you really believe in. Love that!
thats so sweet! and i'm a little teary now...
This is so cool that it's making me tear up. Awesome!
its a good thing for our kids to know we are people (with our own hopes and dreams) besides moms!
He's right of course, your cupcakes are cool.
I saw the Martha segment on cable at 2am the other night, quite by accident. I felt very proud, because I knew who you are, and felt like I knew you because I read your blog.
How weird is that?
Great segment though. You really are very clever.
Nothing makes me feel better than hearing Sprout tell me that the things I make are beautiful. Whether she's right or not isn't as significant as the idea that she approves of my efforts.
Your cupcakes ARE cool, so tactile, so asking to be hugged. (I have a thing for felted wool). I saw you this week on Martha and there was no way I could have told that this was your first experience in front of a television camera. You came across as very comfortable, collected, and confident.
I am looking forward to your book being published and will definitely make sure that at least one copy is winging its way down to Australia's sunny climes.
Cool, cool kid. I am sure that is one piece of artwork that will be treasured.

Don't you love that? My oldest son is my biggest fan and PR rep. He tells everyone at his school, my mom makes bags! Have you seen her website??
