best mother's day ever...

That's what my boys kept saying over and over all Sunday, "This is the best Mother's Day ever!" And they were right. Pancakes in the morning, movie in the afternoon, with hugs and kisses all day long. What's not to love?

Coming off all that cacoony-snuggly goodness, I'm not feeling very creative. I thought I'd use my youngest ones creativity for show-and-tell today. He's 5 and this is his "museum".

Here's an aerial shot. Most of his 3-D work (next to rocks and toilet paper tubes) is in polymer clay. Boy, do we go through Sculpey!

The museum has two levels, created by a polartec drape over an Ikea plastic kiddie table. Note the dinosaur exhibit on the lower level.

This is one of my favorites. It was a colaborative effort. He sculpted the dragon. I constructed a little felt vest with wings! (under his direction, of course).

I love the little face on this octopus looking guy!

Ok, back to felt and fabric next post...I promise!

I work in a local history museum, and can I tell you... your kid rocks! This is fabulous to see: collecting/making what is important to him, arranging it and rearranging it to tell stories and to give it meaning.

I hope he maintains this in some form for the rest of his life!

I love the museum! What a great imagination. We are slowly forming a museum of painted canvases and artwork created by our 6-year old.
