seeing spots

Look what I've been playing with...

I made these wool "pennies" from sweater scraps and from the windfall of wool fabric I received this summer.

I don't know why I'm so drawn to circles lately.

First there was the new bath mat...

then there was the remnant that became a pillow...

Then my SIGG bottle joined in...

And finally an article in the Fall 2007 issue of Creative Home on "penny rugs" by a woman named Mary Knowles.

Circles! In wool! What could be better?

And now I can't stop making them. So many scraps, so many possibilities....

Oh Betz, I've been pining to make trees and flowers like this for a penny rug pillow, and you've done it so well I don't even dare!! Beautiful work, as always :-)

I'm partial to circles too. Have been for some time now. And it has nothing to do with where I live. Just a happy coincidence. Really.

No, really.

I was going to mention Penny rugs! Porter and Fonz did a show on them and they've been on my mind ever since.

I love these felt circles, they are so cute (they look great on a rug / cushion). You're right, the possibilities are endless!

Just beautiful. And I love the blanket edge stitching! I haven't done any of that in a long time- I will have to get out the embroidery thread and give it a go. Thanks for sharing!
