a day in the life

It was one of those mornings. My kindergartener woke up with 2 bucks under his pillow from the tooth fairy, then promptly broke into tears because he missed his first lost tooth. My second grader had no clean pants. He came downstairs wearing capris (his little brother's jeans I accidentally put in his drawer). Didn't I do laundry all weekend? The recycling truck was on it's way down the street...I had forgotten again and ran out to the curb with our overflowing bin. *sigh*

On one of my gazillion trips up and down the stairs before 7:30 am I managed to look out our window to see this...

This is a neighborhood park behind our house. We don't have much of a backyard here, but who needs it? The trees and the sky looked so lovely...so after the school bus took the morning cares away, I went for a walk with my camera.

Fall is looking pretty darn good right now, I have to say. I have a fascination with changing leaves, I just can't get enough. This is just my absolute favorite time of year!

And now for a treat! Another sneaker-peeker from Warm Fuzzies...coming soon to a bookstore near you! (at least I hope so)
Robots can be soft and cuddly sometimes...just right for little boys.

Flowers. too...just for you! Have a great day!

This is my favorite time of year too. Unfortunately, it's not quite as the same in California. Lovely.

Loved the post: I can s-o-o relate. Luvly pics, with the thinning autumn light. Have a beautiful day. Fall is indeed bittersweet,

Oh..so beautiful. We don't have Fall here - everything just stays green. But guess our trade-off is the beach/beach weather. I've already pre-ordered my copy so I can't wait! I'm accumulating some wool sweaters from thrift stores :-)

I share your fascination with changing leaves. After just two peaks, I am excited for your book

most of my mornings are like that. :)

I am totally in love with fall. It's amazing to me. I think I love it more each year. My neighbors (2 sweet teenagers) invited my little ones to jump in their newly raked leaf pile yesterday. It was fabulous.

My favorite season, too. We're running out of leaves here in a hurry, though. They're all in my yard!

I must say, I found you from Susan Anderson's blog and got a bit disappointed. There's a contest (where? I don't remember) for designing a pincushion. I was planning, after much thought, on making a coffee cup. You beat me to the punch :-)

Back to the drawing board...

The fall leaves you captured with your lens are gorgeous. I love the robot! He rocks! I am always looking for projects for boys. Mine just turned 7 and there are just so many projects to do for girls but not as many for boys. My son really appreciates when I make him things. You are always a great source of inspiration!

Betz,
My husband and I love gathering the magnolia pods while they are still all tight and fuzzy and then putting them in a pretty bowl and watching those wonderful red seeds come out!
Love fall!

Aww...how adorable that your little boy was crying for his first lost tooth. Perhaps, the tooth fairy would consider a refund? Beautiful scenery behind your house, I love the red leaves in particular (it's cold over here). Enjoy.

It's a shame we don't get those leaves down here (Houston/San Antonio). I guess that's why I never could get 'into' Fall.

The trees are gorgeous, and I really love the photo of the leaves at the top of the post!

Betz, thank you so much for stopping by my blog and for the wonderful idea!!! That is absolutely PERFECT! I will ask Sophie today after school if she still wants her tooth back and if she says YES, then we'll do that. :) Thanks again!!!
