sumthin about knittin

After I made my felted scarflette, one of my commenters mentioned that she sells a similar pattern for a knit cabled neck warmer in her etsy shop, Home Made Originals. I love it! Clean and simple but not the least bit boring. I decided to knit one with some yummy leftover yarn that was just waiting for the perfect project. A few years ago my 2 sister-in-laws and I went to the Taos Wool Festival in NM where we bought the most delicious yarn from Brooks Farms. I had knit a vest out of it and had just enough to make this, too!

Mmmm, so soft and cozy. And it was a quick satisfying knit! I may never take it off!

Betz, Your finished neck warmer looks wonderful! Thanks for the mention of my pattern here, I sold all three copies I had in my Etsy shop. I've just listed more and also have the pattern on Ravelry and my blog.

Thanks for the continuing motivation to keep knitting and felting...I intend to finish up my scarflette made from "Flora" pattern on knitty.com--hopefully, tomorrow! And I want to try a felted version, also. Love your site!

Is it just me--or does that look like an owl, if you turn your head? Maybe I just have owls on the brain, because I love them!

That is really, really lovely. It totally looks like something they'd charge an arm & a leg for at Anthropologie, and you whipped it up so fast! With leftovers! Too cool. I love everything you make.

That is completely lovely! I have a thing (yeah, we'll call it a thing) with scarves and neck warmers. I think I get depressed in the summer because it is FAR too hot in Arkansas to even pull of a summer scarf. :)

Thankfully, it's still winter, so I can wear and wear and wear them.

great project! I've been knitting up a storm, too. I knit on the plane to CHA -- all the way there and all the way back. Scarves! Now I'm working on a pair of arm/wrist warmers for my sweet teen.

I just ordered this, hope you don't mind if I end up wearing one too. I loved it when I saw it might just be the perfect fist cable project.
