Lately I've been feeling very sentimental about my boys. They are biggering and bettering every day. While I am loving each and every stage of their lives, I find myself replaying my baby and toddler memories of them. Oh those days! They were so challenging yet so so sweet. Which isn't to say that these school-age days aren't challenging and sweet...just in a different way.
Like most moms, I tend to focus on the kids more than I do myself. But one thing I've always wanted since I became a mom, was to have some kind of mommy necklace. I've never quite found any that suited me. Until now.
That's why I was thrilled when jewelry designer Lisa of Lisa Leonard Designs contacted me. We arranged a trade and now I have the perfect mom necklace, customized just for me.
Lisa's handmade jewelry is unique and perfect for everyday. Each piece is hand-cut, hammered, antiqued and polished sterling silver. The design I chose is called Open Circle. It has a nice weight to it without being too bold. I've been wearing it nearly every day and I am so happy with it! You can see more of Lisa's design at Lisa Leonard Designs.
It's not easy being a mom, but I can't imagine my life any other way. Best. Job. Ever.

Oh, and I just wanted to add a little bloggy shout out to Amy at Progressive Pioneer. She's interviewed me this week as a part of her "Mama Views" series. Thanks, Amy!

Beautiful!! TFS
How lovely!!!!
Oh, I love it. I've been on the lookout for a mommy necklace for ages, but haven't found any that aren't too cheesy, or just not my style. Yours is fantastic. I'll have to go check her out, thanks.
Love the word "biggering". It really does capture it from our mom point of view!
Your neckless is lovely!
Just love the photo with your boys :-)
I have a Lisa Leonard necklace that I love! Whenever I check back onto her blog or site, I see new designs I so WANT. I wish I had something she would like to take in trade from me...a child or husband perhaps?? Just joking.

Hi Betz,
I'm a bit of a lurker on your blog, I admit it, but I just wanted to let you know that I found this post very touching and sweet. I am expecting my first baby in January (a girl) and, preparing to be a new mother, I just love to hear moms talk about how much they love BEING moms.
I also wanted to tell you that I taught a group of women at a church crafting night how to make your wool brooches. I think it was a success. Thanks for sharing your ideas with us. I know that you are an artist and that this is how you make your living. It's very generous of you to share free projects.
Warm Regards,
Abby
your necklace is beautiful! Lisa's work really is special... I rarely take mine off, either. Biggering is the best new word!
Oh, wow - that is just lovely! I love the photo of you and your boys, too. What a great perspective! I love meeting fellow mommy bloggers! {grin}
A beautiful necklace that seems to suit you. Hold on to those boys while they will still let you. Mine is 16 now and gave me one of the best gifts recently. After his football game, he came up and hugged and kissed my cheek. Needless to say, that made me prouder of him than I already was.
