Wildlife with Love: Polar Pal Appliqués

Hello animal lovers! Joining the stuffed felt wildlife I shared the past 3 days are adorable mom and baby animal portraits. Introducing my first embroidered appliqué pattern, Polar Pals!

Stitch these sweet character vignettes to create fresh wall decor for a nursery or child's room. The pattern includes templates and instructions to stitch three different felt appliquéd animal pairs: Polar Bears, Penguins and Seals.

The felt is applied with fusible webbing, helping it to stay put while stitching the embroidered details. An illustrated stitch glossary is included, of course. I designed each pair to have a simply pieced background to give the animals a sense of space. It's also a great opportunity to use some fabric scraps or incorporate prints that coordinate with a room. I used pure organic solids from Robert Kaufman and Mod Basic Dots on organic cotton from Birch Fabrics.
