I’m home again after an amazing adventure in beauty, creativity and friendship: The Squam Art Workshops in NH. It’s going to take me some time to process the experience, and I will be sharing it with you in the posts to come.
It started with kindred spirits. My roommate Marisa of Creative Thursday, and I couldn’t have been better matched. I mean, just look at our feet. We stayed in the cabin aptly named Nirvana. Lemme tell ya, it was the place to be.
Throughout the week we were treated to the fantastic music and sparkling personality of Jonatha Brooke.
There were delicious meals (no grocery shopping, cooking or dishes to do!) served with great company.
There was sewing and creativity flowing with the lake forever by our side. This shot is from one of my workshops. I placed all of the sewing machines right up next to the windows for optimum vista intake. π I was continually astounded by this gathering of creative souls and their no-fear attitudes toward creating. They came from all over the US, plus Canada and the UK!
Each day was filled with fresh air, sunshine and natural beauty. Every evening my cabin-mates and I gathered around for the most wonderful chats late into the night/early mornings. I’ll share more soon about the talented artists I had the honor of spending time with. Lakeside in Nirvana. It doesn’t get any better.
Sounds lovely…great photos…love the Chucks!
Oh those photos make me wish I was there and instead of sitting in a cubicle right now. I’m very jealous! Glad you had a wonderful time π
Thanks for the peek into Squam. I am attending the September session and can’t wait!
It looks absolutely lovely!
What a nice way to spend your weekend. Nirvana is the perfect description of lakeside leisure.
JONATHA BROOKE?!
Dang, I wished before I’d have been able to go, but Jonatha Brooke by the campfire? I can’t think about this too much or I’ll cry! Back in the Circus is one of my all-time faves.
Sounds like a perfect experience — glad you had such a good time! I take it the workshops you taught went well… π
So where will you be next? Anywhere exciting?
oh, all of that sounds absolutely perfect.
I look forward to hearing all the news. I’m sure your classes were awesome.
Oh what fun! I already planted the seed about next year to my hubby who is all for these types of adventures- plus, seems like someone shares the love of green polka dot Simple sneakers, so I know I’d be in good company.

I read this yesterday while waiting my turn at the DPS office of all places. Didn’t get a chance to comment at the time (new photo taken = yuck). What a great opportunity to be surrounded by talent and such scenery! Glad you had a great time.
Oh this sounds PERFECT! I’d love to go to something like this ^_^ We do something similar with kitemaking, it’s called MAKR and it’s held at an old artist retreat in Oregon, IL. Absolutely scenic and relaxing.
