Instructions are also included for a coordinating appliquéd pillow with the character of your choice.
The appliqués are made using wool blend felt, applied with fusible webbing and machine stitched. Important details, like faces, are hand embroidered. The felt really lends itself to these furry (and feathery!) characters and adds a wonderful depth and texture to the quilt. I pre-washed my fabrics and felt to be sure that irregular shrinkage would not be a problem. With a gentle cycle this quilt can be machine washed.
The amazing quilting on my photo samples was done by the talented Angela Walters. She knew just what the finishing touch should be for my quilt....wavy landscape, swirling skies, it's perfect!
Fluff the baby Polar Bear
Swift, the Arctic Fox
Tweed, the Snowy Owl
Slide, the baby seal
Pip, the baby penguin
Poppy here, posing with his favorite quilt square...
Flurry is partial to this one...
This concludes the reveal of the Wildlife with Love™ sewing pattern collection! I hope you've enjoyed seeing what's new each day this week. It's been fun introducing them and telling you the back story about my inspiration and decision to support the National Wildlife Federation. The Polar Babies Quilt and Pillow PDF pattern is now available in my etsy shop. If you've missed any posts this week, you can follow these links:

Now if you'll excuse me, I've got a lot to do before leaving for Quilt Market next week. I can't wait to take my wildlife friends on the road and show them off!
Update: I forgot to mention! All of the fabrics used in the quilt are organic cottons from Cloud 9, Timeless Treasures, and my own Stitch from Robert Kaufman.

I like these so darn much! The wavy background fabrics really set off the cutie-pies and def give a nice water / ice effect! Bravo Betz!!!
